About me

Hi, I’m Lizzie,

I'm a Senior Clinical Psychologist specialising in eating disorders, with over 10 years’ experience in NHS adult and young person services, providing high quality online eating disorder treatment across the UK since 2020.
I offer evidence-based, compassionate therapy.

I work with you to navigate feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted by your thoughts about food and your body, helping you regain calm, confidence, and ease in recovery.

I have extensive experience working with individuals with eating disorders as well as general mental health difficulties. I have worked as a senior clinical psychologist and lead for psychological therapies in an NHS specialist eating disorder team as well as working in both general adult mental health and CAMHS.

I started working privately online in 2020 as a way of living more in line with my values of offering high quality personalised care and having more time with my family.
I understand how all-consuming, exhausting, and lonely it can be to deal with an eating disorder.
I’m grateful to join people in their recovery journey and can’t imagine doing anything else.

At The Accepted Self, my mission is to help you navigate the complexities of your relationship with yourself, food, and eating. I’ll work with you to overcome the challenges that come with these struggles, helping you build self-acceptance and break free from harmful patterns.
Together, we’ll focus on building a healthier and happier relationship with yourself, so you can live with greater wellbeing and peace.

Who do I work with?
I specialise in working with adults and young people (16+).
I routinely support people with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, restrictive eating, yo-yo dieting, compulsive exercise and body image difficulties and more. I understand that life holds unique challenges at every age and aim to offer flexible treatment that best meets your needs.
I also provide support for loved ones and carers. If you are struggling to know how best to support someone with an eating difficulty please get in contact.

Personalised care, tailored to you
Every individual who faces challenges with food, eating, and body image is unique and deserves a personalized treatment plan that considers the whole person, not just the symptoms.
To personalise your treatment to you, I integrate elements from various therapeutic approaches based on your individual needs and preferences.

Weight-inclusive services
People of any shape and size can experience eating disorders or related difficulties.
Many individuals hesitate to seek support because they believe they need to be underweight to qualify for help. However, all clients deserve dignity, respect, compassion, and access to highly specialized care.
That is why Health at Every Size (HAES®) principles are deeply embedded in the foundation of this practice. Here at
The Accepted Self I am passionate about helping people to thrive and build resilience in a world of diet culture and fat phobia.

Virtual therapy for eating disorders
Living with an eating disorder or body image-related difficulties can be extremely painful. Due to limitations in NHS funding or a lack of eating disorder specialists in local areas, many people struggle without support for a long time.
That's why I am passionate about offering easily accessible specialist eating disorder treatment across the UK through online therapy. With remote eating disorder therapy, you can receive the support you need, no matter where you are located.

If you live outside of the UK, or would like to access treatment whilst travelling internationally please get in touch.

Specialist eating disorder support, wherever you are
Healing your relationship with food, your body and yourself should not depend on where you live. Specialist eating disorder therapy can be difficult to access, with long waiting lists and limited local options. Online therapy removes those barriers.

I work with clients across the UK, offering evidence-based, compassionate treatment for eating disorders from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Online therapy allows us to meet consistently, flexibly, and without the stress of travel or scheduling around busy lives, childcare, or work.

For many people, online therapy creates a safer, more comfortable space to open up, especially when working on something as vulnerable as eating difficulties. It also allows me to collaborate easily with your GP, local services, or any other professionals supporting you, wherever you are based.
Online therapy also works well for people whose location changes, such as international students, frequent travellers, or those who move between home and work, ensuring continuity of care wherever life takes you.

You deserve specialist support that fits your life, not the other way around. If you are ready to take the next step, online therapy can make recovery more accessible, more manageable and more sustainable.
